HYBA partnered with Vent Moto to unveil the EVBAT electric motorcycle prototype at EICMA 2025, showcasing a forward-thinking urban and off-road vehicle powered by HYBA's innovative battery technology. Supported by the EIT RawMaterials-funded EVBAT project, this collaboration integrates HYBA's lightweight, swappable POD battery system with Vent Moto's expertise in performance-driven motorcycles, emphasizing electric mobility without compromise in terms of precision, passion, and sustainability. The prototype addresses key demands in the sector by enabling quick battery swaps that mimic gasoline refueling, while aligning with EU regulations for repairable and recyclable designs.

Industry Challenge

The electric motorcycle industry faces significant hurdles, including heavy battery weights that impact vehicle performance and handling, prolonged charging times that limit practicality for urban and off-road use, and non-compliance with EU regulations. Often, these issues contribute to higher costs, reduced serviceability, and increased e-waste, hindering widespread adoption among OEMs, fleet operators, and consumers seeking reliable, regulation-ready solutions.

Our Solution

HYBA's modular 48V battery system, featuring weldless modules with spring-loaded busbars for easy cell replacement, was integrated into the EVBAT prototype. This swappable POD configuration, up to eight batteries in parallel, reduces weight by 7 kg compared to current EV batteries, supports rapid swaps at public stations, and includes smart electronics like BMS for safety, TCU for remote monitoring of SOC and SOH, and IP65-rated aluminum housing. It enables straightforward maintenance and end-of-life recycling, unlocking new standards in performance and versatility for lightweight vehicles.
