How HYBA is different

Modular, Weldless Design

The HYBA battery is a 48 V system that supports swappable configurations: up to eight HYBA batteries can operate in parallel, enabling easy integration into diverse vehicle platforms with varying form factors and power requirements. Our battery’s core building block is the HYBA Module, built from seven cells. Our weldless design ensures easy cell access in direct compliance to the EU requirement for repairable, replaceable batteries. Each HYBA Module is equipped with an NTC sensor and a balancing connector–components which allow for temperature and cell balance monitoring, thus ensuring operational safety of the battery throughout its lifetime.

Smart Electronics for Safety and Control

True innovation in battery safety and control comes from the BMS (Battery Management System). Every HYBA battery features a customized BMS that supports CAN communication and parallel battery operation. The BMS controls a solid-state main switch for safe load management. This MOSFET-based solution disconnects faster than mechanical relays or fuses in case of short circuits or malfunctions. The TCU (Telemetric Control Unit) enables remote access to real‑time battery data, including state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH). Cells and electronics are housed in aluminum with IP65 protection against dust and water ingress. The main connector at the bottom of the battery allows 180° symmetrical connection. It includes two power pins and eight signal pins for vehicle or charger communication.

Maintenance and End‑of‑Life Handling

Weldless cell technology simplifies disassembly and maintenance, even for single-cell replacements. At the end-of-life, the battery pack disassembles fully, allowing for its components to be reused or recycled. This decreases the TCO of the vehicle by 30% at the first cell replacement and 50% at second cell replacement.

HYBA holds patents for the complete hardware system and the general design.
